Ashwini Vaishnaw launches ‘Digital Payments Utsav’ to Promote Digital Transformation

Ashwini Vaishnaw launched a comprehensive campaign called ‘Digital Payments Utsav’ to promote digital payments across India. The “Digital Payments Utsav” will showcase India’s journey of digital transformation, with a series of events and initiatives to be held from 9th February to 9th October 2023.

• It aims to promote digital payments in the country, especially in the cities of Lucknow, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, as part of the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG).

Union Minister inaugurated Mission Antyodaya Survey 2022-23

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurated Mission Antyodaya Survey 2022-23 in New Delhi. Mission Antyodaya Survey 2022-23 will ensure the effective utilization of resources through a convergence of various government schemes for sustainable livelihood for each marginalized household.

• Mission Antyodaya Survey 2023 will be held in all two lakh 69 thousand 253-gram panchayats and equivalent, whose profile has been created on e-Gram Swaraj.

Defence ministry signs contract with L&T for procurement of 41 modular bridges worth Rs 2,585 crore

Ministry of Defence approved the proposal for the indigenous manufacture of 41 sets of modular bridges for the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.

• Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has designed and developed these bridges. the estimated cost will be over Rs 2,585 crore.
• The modular bridges will take place of the manually-­launched Medium Girder Bridges (MGB).

Uttar Pradesh government launches portal for ‘One Family, One ID’

The Uttar Pradesh government launched the portal for the creation of ‘Family ID – One Family One Identity’, to identify families as a unit for implementing the ‘one job per family’ proposal. All families in UP who are not eligible for the National Food Security Scheme will be able to avail of the ID. families that have the ration card ID will be considered as their family ID.

• Govt will issue a unique identity to each family under the One Family One Identity scheme, and will also set up a live comprehensive database of family units of the state.

MobiKwik becomes India’s first app to Support Credit Cards on UPI

MobiKwik becomes the first fintech app to support RuPay Credit Card on UPI. RuPay credit cards have been linked directly to UPI IDs, through this, MobiKwik customers can easily make payments at merchants by scanning the UPI QR code and using the UPI PIN for payment authentication.

• It will help in providing an easy and secure payment experience to MobiKwik customers.
• The integration of RuPay Credit Card with UPI is in line with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and RBI.

Inflation rate in Egypt reached to 26.5%

The Inflation rate increased in Egypt in January 2023, with annual inflation now at 26.5%. Egypt’s inflation grew from 21.9% in December 2022 to 26.5% in January this year (2023). And before the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Egypt’s inflation was 8% in January 2022.
