Balloon Ascension Day is an annual celebration designated to honor the brilliant work of Jean-Paul Blanchard. Jean-Paul Blanchard was a French aeronaut and inventor. He made the first manned balloon trip in America in 1793. He is known as the inventor of balloon flight.
