Atanu Chakraborty as Part-time Chairman of HDFC Bank, approved by RBI
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given its approval to HDFC Bank in order to appoint former Economic Affairs Secretary, Atanu Chakraborty as the part-time chairman and additional independent director.
- He will serve for a period of three years with effect from May 5, 2021

- He is an IAS officer of Gujarat cadre from the 1985 batch.
- He has served as Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs and was retired in April 2020.
- He also served as Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM).
