Asian Boxing Championships deferred to 2021 –

  • On 18th August 2020, The Asian Boxing Championships has been cancelled due to COVID-19 disease and will be organized in the next year 2021. Jay Kowli (national federation’s Secretary-General) shared this information. the Asian Boxing Championship was to be held in India. Due to outgoing Coronavirus Disease, Asian Boxing Championship postponed to 2021.
  • Before this, the Asian Boxing Confederation’s (ASBC) Executive Committee conducted a meeting for it on 17th August 2020 to take the right decision. Last time, India hosted men’s Asian meet in Mumbai in the year 1980. the tournament became as a combined event for both men and women in 2019.
  • Apart from this. nine boxers of India including five men and four women will be the part of the Tokyo Olympics after qualifying.
