More than 1 crore central government employees in which 48 lakh workers and almost 65 lakh pensioners are there, they will get a hike in dearness allownace (DA) and restoration of dearness relief.

As per reports of media, Centre will give a 4% hike in dearness allowance and employees will receive more credits in their accounts.

At present, DA is 17 per cent after hike of 4% will raise the DA to 21 per cent. but, the Govt has not made any official announcement for the date when govt employees will get additional hike.

In March 2020, The Union Cabinet granted its permission to issue additional instalment of DA to all Govt employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners. the New DA was to come into effect from 1st January 1, 2021.

Apart from this, The finance ministry also stated that Govt workers will be given an increase of 4 per cent. The Union Cabinet also granted permission to issue DR (Dearness Relief) to the retired pensioners with effect from January 1st, 2020.

On 1st Jan 2021, Jitendra Singh said that this change will give a relief to Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel including Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Border Security Force (BSF) and so on.
