5th India-Japan Bilateral Maritime Exercise JIMEX-21

The fifth edition of India – Japan Maritime Bilateral Exercise, JIMEX 2021 is scheduled between 6th October and 8th October 2021. the JIMEX Exercise will be conducted between the Indian Navy (IN) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) in the Arabian Sea.

  • JIMEX exercises have been conducting since January 2012 with special focus on maritime security cooperation.
  • The main purpose of the JIMEX-21 is to develop common understanding of operational procedures.
  • It will also help in enhancing inter-operability through conduct of a multitude of advanced exercises, across the entire spectrum of maritime operations.
  • From Indian side, indigenously built Guided Missile Stealth Destroyer Kochi and Guided Missile Frigate Teg, P8I Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft, integral helicopters and MiG 29K fighter aircraft will be showcase.
