Zero Discrimination Day 2021: History, Purpose, Theme
Every year, the day of 1st March is observed as Zero Discrimination Day across the world.
Purpose:
- This day highlights the urgent need to take actions against the inequalities in income, age, sex, health status, color, race, occupation, sexual orientation, religion, gender and ethnicity.
History:
- in 2013, The Director of UNAIDS Mr Michel Sidibé launched Zero Discrimination Day and it was celebrated for the first time on 1 March 2014.
Theme 2021:
- Theme of Zero Discrimination Day 2021: “End Inequalities”.
