Frank W. Woolworth is known as the pioneer of the Woolworths business and was born in 1852 in the U.S. Frank W. Woolworth was an entrepreneur who started the concept of buying products directly from the manufacturer and started selling them at his rate to remove the middleman. In 1879, he started a Woolworth’s Grand Five Cents Store in New York.
