The World Health Organization has appointed Dr. Jeremy Farrar as its new chief scientist as it prepares for a post-pandemic future. Dr. Farrar will start the WHO in the second quarter of 2023 and will replace Soumya Swaminathan.
Who is Dr. Jeremy Farrar
- Dr. Farrar is a clinician scientist.
- He spent 17 years as Director of the Clinical Research Unit at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Vietnam before joining the Wellcome Trust in 2013.
- Jeremy will accelerate our efforts to ensure WHO as Chief Scientist.
