Vedanta & Foxconn ink pact with Gujarat government to set up semiconductor unit – Vedanta and Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government, aimed at setting up a semiconductor and display manufacturing unit in the state. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw were also present during the signing of the MOU.
- The cost of the unit will be Rs 1.54 lakh crore to set up and will be the largest-ever investment by any group in a state in India.
- This investment will also create a significant impact to boost economy and jobs and will make a huge ecosystem for ancillary industries and help our MSMEs.”
