V Anantha Nageswaran named new chief economic advisor – Dr Venkatraman Anantha Nageswaran has been elected as the Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) to the Government of India. Venkatraman Anantha will serve as the Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) and will replace former CEA KV Subramanian who returned to academia.

  • Dr Venkatraman Anantha Nageswaran is a distinguished economist and is also involved primarily in the field of academia.
  • He is having a post-graduate diploma in Management (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad in 1985.
  • in 1944, He received a doctoral degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
  • He served as a part-time member of the Prime Minister’s economic advisory council between 2019 and 2021.
  • He has written various books such as ‘The Economics of Derivatives’ and ‘The Rise of Finance: Causes, Consequences and Cures’.
