PM Modi lays foundation stone of Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of the 594-km long Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on 18th December 2021.

  • The 594-km Ganga Expressway will go through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj districts of the state.
  • It will be the longest expressway of Uttar Pradesh and will connect the western and eastern regions of the state.

About 594-km Ganga Expressway

  • It will be a six-lane expressway and can be expanded to eight lanes.
  • The Govt will spend over ₹ 36,230 crores on the 594-km Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district.
  • It will create a big boost to the socio-economic development of the region.

Tamil Nadu declared ‘Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu’ as a state song

The state govt of Tamil Nadu announced ‘Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu,’ an invocation sung in praise of Mother Tamil, as the state anthem.

  • Chief Minister M K Stalin has said a Government Order to this effect has been issued, mandating that all barring the differently-abled persons should remain standing when the 55-second long song is sung.

Haryana’s Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Shri Sandeep Singh has launched ‘Khel Nursery Scheme 2022-23’. the main aim of the ‘Khel Nursery Scheme 2022-23’ is to promote sports and to develop new sports talents in the state.

  • ‘Khel Nursery Scheme 2022-23’ was started to build sports nurseries in government, private educational institutions, and private sports institutes in order to develop sports in the state.
