HDFC Bank cuts India’s GDP growth for FY22 at 10%
HDFC Bank has downgraded the GDP growth rate of India to 10 percent for FY22. prior to this, HDFC projected 11.5% for FY22.
The reason behind this is the increasing cases of COVID-19 across the country.

Care Ratings cuts India’s GDP Forecast to 9.2% for FY22
Care Ratings has cut the GDP growth of India for the current fiscal year 2021-2022 (FY22) to 9.2 percent. Prior to this, Care Ratings estimated a 10.2 percent growth rate in April 2021.
UN estimates India’s GDP to grow 7.5% in CY 2021
On 11th May 2021, The United Nations (UN) has released its latest World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) report. the report says that India’s GDP will grow to 7.5% for Calendar Year 2021.
- Prior to this, the UN estimated a 7.3% growth rate in January.
- In addition, the United Nations also predicts that India’s GDP will boost by 10.1% in Calendar Year 2022.

88 years old and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Assamese Journalist Homen Borgohain died
The famous Assamese litterateur and journalist Homen Borgohain has taken his last breath at the age of 88 due to post Covid-19 complications. he has served as the editor-in-chief of Assamese daily Niyomiya Barta.
- In the year 1978, he received Sahitya Akademi Award for the Assamese language for his novel ‘Pita Putra’.
- Apart from this, he also served as the President of Assam Sahitya Sabha.
