Hindi writer Dr. Asghar Wajahat awarded with 31st Vyas Samman

Well-known Hindi writer Dr Asghar Wajahat has been conferred with 31st Vyas Samman at a function in New Delhi for his play Mahabali. Asghar Wajahat focuses on Mughal emperor Akbar and poet Tulsidas. Through the play, he tries to answer who is the real Mahabali, the poet or the emperor.

  • K K Birla Foundation presented the Vyas Samman or outstanding literary work in Hindi authored by an Indian citizen published during the last 10 years.
  • Vyas Samman award carries Rs 4 lakh and a citation and a plaque.
  • The award was started presenting in 1991.
  • Ram Vilas Sharma was honoured with the inaugural Vyas Samman in 1991 for his work ‘Bharat ke Pracheen Bhasha Parivar aur Hindi’.
  • 30th Vyas Samman was received by Professor Sharad Pagare for his novel titled ‘Patliputra ki Samragi’.

HDFC Bank unveils ‘Bank on Wheels’ in Gujarat

HDFC Bank unveiled its state-of-the-art ‘Bank on Wheel’ van in Gujarat state. The Bank in Wheel van service will help in taking banking services to unbanked villages. The Bank in Wheel van will cover remote villages located 10-25 km from the nearest branch to further financial inclusion, under the HDFC Bank’s newly initiated Rural Banking Business.

  • It is a pilot project which aims to offer banking services in unbanked locations.
  • Customers will be able to access 21 banking products and bank services.
  • The Bank in Wheel van will visit each village twice a week.

As per Fortune India’s list of ‘India’s Richest’ for 2022, the wealth of 142 billionaires based in India is collectively worth $832 billion (Rs 66.36 trillion). Asia’s richest man Gautam Adani overtakes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to become the 3rd richest person in the world. Gautam Adani became India’s richest man with a net worth of USD 129.16 billion (Rs. 10.29 trillion).

Dinesh Kumar Batra assumed charge as CMD of Bharat Electronics Limited

Director (Finance) & CFO Dinesh Kumar Batra has assumed an additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) with effect from September 1st, 2022. Dinesh Kumar is also credited with BEL entering into Li-on battery packs for automobiles in order to support the e-Mobility programme of the Indian Government.

  • Dinesh Kumar Batra is a member of the Board of BEL subsidiaries, BEL-Thales Systems Limited (BTSL) and BEL Optronic Devices Limited (BELOP).
  • Dinesh Kumar Batra steered BEL to achieve its highest ever turnover of Rs. 15,044 Crores and PAT of Rs. 2,349 Crores in FY 2021-22 as Director (Finance) & CFO.

The public enterprise’s selection board (PESB) has chosen Ajit Kumar Saxena for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of “A” Miniratna Category-I Company, MOIL Limited. at present, Ajit Kumar Saxena is serving as Director (Operations) of RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant since October 17, 2019. he also worked as Chief General Manager, Mills, IISCO, Burnpur, Steel Authority of India Ltd.

  • Saxena has a B Tech degree from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in Metallurgy and he also studied for an MBA.
  • In 1986, he started his career as a Management Trainee (Technical).
  • He served in various assignments in SAIL starting with Bhilai Steel Plant and worked in various positions in his long tenure of 33 years in SAIL.
  •  the Ministry of Steel gave him the “Young Metallurgist of the Year Award ” for the year 2000.

Australia Captain Aaron Finch to Retire from ODI Cricket

Australia’s captain Aaron Finch announced his retirement from one-day international (ODI) cricket. he will retire after Australia’s third and final ODI against New Zealand. however, Finch will be the captain of the Australian cricket team for T20 and will lead the team in the T20 World CupT20 World Cup will be held in October and November 2022 in Australia.
