The South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship is offered to South Dakota’s most academically accomplished high school graduate students. The program aims to help students get an affordable education at any accredited university, college, or technical school in South Dakota.
The South Dakota Legislature founded the program in 2004. It is funded through the state of South Dakota’s Education Enhancement Trust Fund. The Scholarship covers financial support between $1,300 – $2,600 per year to qualifying applicants attending an eligible higher education institute in South Dakota.

Selection Process
Applications will be selected based on a high school transcript. However, through the course of the scholarship, students will have to follow certain requirements. It you are failure to meet these requirements as a result, candidates will be declared permanently ineligible for further funding.
