  • The government of India has begun a new scheme for the purpose of solarisation of Konark Sun Temple and Konark town in Odisha. the main purpose of the Yojana is to develop the historical Sun temple town of Konark in Odisha as ‘Surya Nagri’.

  • As per Scheme, the GOI will establish of 10-MW grid-connected solar project and others many solar off-grid applications for example solar drinking water kiosks, solar trees, and off-grid solar power plants with battery storage are included.
  • The Government of India will provide 100% central financial assistance (CFA) support which is almost 25 crore rupee. the whole amount will be issued through the MNRE.
  • the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) will take steps to implement the project.
