Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021: On 26th September 2021, The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (SSB) Prize has been presented to 11 scientists for outstanding contributions to science and technology during the 80th foundation day of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

  • The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (SSB) Prize was named after Dr (Sir) Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar who was the founder and Director of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) India.

Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize

  • The award has been named after Dr (Sir) Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar who served as founding Director of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) India. The award is presented for outstanding contributions to science and technology annually. and the name of recipients are announced on the occasion of the CSIR Foundation Day (26th September 2021).
  • The SSB Prize includes Rs 5,00,000 (Rupees five lakh only) and is distributed to the following disciplines: (i) Biological Sciences, (ii) Chemical Sciences, (iii) Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, (iv) Engineering Sciences, (v) Mathematical Sciences, (vi) Medical Sciences and (vii) Physical Sciences.
