The Robert S. McNamara Fellowship Program (RSMFP) is offered to Ph.D. students of 145+ World Bank member developing countries such as India, Bangladesh, China, Vietnam, etc. RSMFP covers an amount of 44,888 USD to conduct their Ph.D. research, in a university abroad, on a development topic.
The Program is granted for 8 months. RSMFP Fellowship-eligible candidates have already enrolled in a relevant Ph.D. program. The selection process for RSMFP will be done in two phases and is based on research proposals.

Eligibility Criteria
Must follow the following eligibility criteria at the time of submission of application:
- Must be a citizen of a World Bank member developing country such as India, Bangladesh, China, etc.
- Must not hold dual citizenship in a developing country.
- The age limit is 35 years on the application deadline date.
- Must have enrolled in a Ph.D. program and be a member of the World Bank.
- Must be residing in a member developing country.
- Must have fulfilled all prerequisite coursework and exam requirements for attaining a Ph.D. program.

Required Documentation
- RSMFP application form.
- Signature on the agreement to the terms and conditions laid down by the RSMFP.
- One LOR from the hosting university’s Ph.D. Thesis supervisor.
- One LOR from the hosting university’s research advisor.
