The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was launched by the Indian Govt under the leadership of PM Modi in December 2000 and aims to provide unrestricted all-weather road connectivity to unconnected villages of India. PMGSY is a nationwide scheme for establishing better connectivity and transportation in rural areas. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana project is funded by both the Central Government and the state with a 60:40 ratio.
