New York Section Plant/Distribution System Operators Scholarship 2024

The New York Section AWWA created the Plant/Distribution System Operations Scholarship and awards $500 scholarships to 4 students. These scholarships will be awarded to an individual based on merit. Funds must be used for water system operator courses, Annual New York Water Event attendance, and the Edwin C. Tifft Jr. Water Supply Symposium.

Eligibility Criteria

Follow the Eligibility Criteria to apply for the program.

• A completed “NYSAWWA Operators Scholarship” application.
• Membership in the American Water Works Association
• Must be a licensed Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator and employed by a New York State water purveyor.
• A write-up of the applicant’s job description.
• A short paragraph on plans for the use of the scholarship fund.

• Must Provide AWWA member number or utility membership number.
• Attach a copy of the Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator’s License.

The evaluation committee will evaluate the text in which the candidate displays the scholarship’s potential projection and the work experience descriptions are tailored to the organization’s needs.
