Brown and Caldwell offer a scholarship called the Navajo Nation Scholarship to encourage and support students who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation who are looking to improve our world by developing their skills and knowledge in preparation for a career in the environmental profession. It includes $1,000 for up to four (4) years of schooling (for a total of $4,000).

Eligibility Criteria
Follow the Eligibility Criteria to apply for the program.
- Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be a full-time student enrolled at an accredited two-year junior or four-year undergraduate college, or a senior in high school with a letter of acceptance from the college or university to be attended.
- Must have or intend to declare a major in civil, chemical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
- Must be an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.
Application Process
Here’s, what you must provide besides your application.
- An essay of 500 words or less, “My role in creating a sustainable world.”
- A short paragraph of 250 words or less, “How will this scholarship help you achieve your educational goals?”
- Two written recommendations, with at least one from a high school or university official (e.g. adviser, professor).
- High school counselor or university academic adviser’s name, phone number, and email address.
- An official transcript of your academic record.
- A resume (including previous work experience).
- Documentation showing proof of enrollment in the Navajo Nation.
