Meghalaya Cabinet approves creation of new district named Eastern West Khasi Hills District
The Meghalaya Cabinet has given its approval to create a new district named Eastern West Khasi Hills District. under the proposal, the Mairang civil sub-division will be upgraded to a full-fledged district.
- On 10th November 2021, The new district will be inaugurated by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
- With this, Meghalaya will have 12 in a total number of districts
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma Said in tweet regard this
- “Proposal to upgrade the Mairang Civil Sub-Division to a full-fledged district has been approved by the Cabinet today. Happy to announce that the new district will be named Eastern West Khasi Hills and will be inaugurated on 10th Nov 2021,”
