Mahaparinirvan Diwas 2021: 65th Death Anniversary of BR Ambedkar: Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar who is known as Babasaheb Ambedkar, passed away on 6th December 1956. Ambedkar was born in Madhya Pradesh’s Mhow and he was the 14th and the last child of his parents.

• Ambedkar was an Economist and educationist.
• Babasaheb was also the flag bearer of India’s Dalit Activism, is known as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.
• In 1947, DR BR Ambedkar was elected as the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee for the constitution of independent India.
• After the independence of India from the British Raj, Ambedkar became the 1st law minister of India.
• He was also called ‘Excluded India’, ‘Mook Nayak’, ‘Janta’ and raised voice against the atrocities on Dalits.

Dr BR Ambedkar’s 65th Death Anniversary

1. He did his masters in 64 subjects and used to know 9 languages. he was the first Indian to pursue a doctorate.
2. Ambedkar belongs to a Hindu family and was from Maharashtra’s Mahaar caste (In this caste, people were referred to as ‘untouchables’).
3. Ambedkar became the first lawyer belonging to a backward caste.
4. Ambedkar was awarded India’s highest civilian award “Bharat Ratna”.
