Every year, International Color Day is celebrated on March 21. We all know that the Portuguese Color Association proposed the idea for International Color Day. March 21 marks the day of the equinox, which means the lengths of day and night are almost the same as the sun’s rays are straight on the equator. On this day, people come together and celebrate this day by conducting exhibitions, science shows, and interactive programs for children, among other activities.
History
In 2008, Maria Joao Durao, the president of the Portuguese Color Association introduced the idea of ‘Association Internationale de la Couleur (A.I.C.)’ for recognizing the importance of color. The association’s members decided to celebrate the day in 2009 and selected the March 21 date to dedicate it. In 2012, an art competition took place in Taipei, Taiwan to decide on the logo for International Color Day. An art competition was won by Hosana Yau of Hong Kong for his diagram of two circles that made an eye.
