International Asteroid Day 2021
The day of 30th June is observed as International Asteroid Day in order to create awareness about asteroids and what can be done to protect the Earth, its families, communities, and future generations from a catastrophic event. this day is also known as Asteroid Day.
- The first International Asteroid Day took place in 2015.
- The day marks the anniversary of the Siberian Tunguska event. the event was held on 30th June 1908. the Siberian Tunguska event was the most harmful known asteroid-related event on Earth in recent history.

- according to reports, On 30th June 1908, it was a massive explosion that was occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in Yeniseysk Governorate (now Krasnoyarsk Krai), Russia. The massive explosion over the sparsely populated Eastern Siberian Taiga flattened an estimated 80 million trees over an area of 2,150 km (830 sq mi) of the forest (Wikipedia)
