India at 43rd on the IMD World Competitiveness Index

IMD World Competitiveness Index

  • India has got 43rd place on the Institute for Management Development’s (IMD) 2020 World Competitiveness Index ranks. Index points that India is continuing low ranking due to the traditional weaknesses for eg. insufficient education investment and poor infrastructure. it was 63rd edition of IMD rankings
  • in the terms of BRICS Nations, China is as topper and India has got 2nd place and followed by Russia, Brazil and South Africa are at 20th, 56th and 59th place respectively.

Key Points :

  • IMD World Competitiveness Index : India got success to secure its 41st rank on the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking since 1989. however, it went down to 45th place and in next year, it improved to 44th place.
