Golden Temple gets FCRA Registration
- Home Ministry has given permission for the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) registration to Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji (Golden Temple) Amritsar. now, Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji could receive foreign donations. the donations will be used in order to shine to offer financial and medical assistance to the needy. apart from this, Sikhs will use donations for organising langar which is known as a free community kitchen.
Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010
- The Home Affairs Ministry will implement the FCRA Act that will regulate the foreign funding of voluntary organizations in India.
- As per Act, organisations will require to register themselves in a period of five years.
- A person will be able to get foreign contribution after registration.
- MP and MLAs, Political parties, publishers of a registered Newspaper, Judge will be able to receive the foreign contributions.
About Shri Harmandir Sahib ji (Golden Temple) –
- The Gurudwara Golden Temple is situated in Amritsar, Punjab and established around a man-made pool. the fourth Sikh’s Guru Shri Guru Ram Das Ji completed the work of Gurudwara Sahib Ji in 1577.
In 1581, Fifth Guru of Sikhs Shri Guru Arjan Ji started the construction of the Golden Temple. at present, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) administers the Gurdwara Sahib and controlled by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
