DoT launched GatiShakti Sanchar Portal for Centralised Right of Way – Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has launched the GatiShakti Sanchar portal, aiming to streamline the application and approval procedure for RoW pan India.

  • Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that legal backing for the right of way (RoW) for telecom infrastructure projects will be put in place by December 2022, as he launched the GatiShakti Sanchar portal that will aim to accelerate approvals for the laying of fibre and tower installations, ahead of the 5G roll-out in the country.

What is the GatiShakti Sanchar Portal

  • “GatiShakti Sanchar Portal” is a collaborative institutional mechanism between all stakeholders and it will help in facilitating the Right of Way (RoW) Application Process through a single interface.
  • it includes Central and State/UT Government(s), Local bodies, and Service Providers.
  • “GatiShakti Sanchar Portal” will envisage bringing transparency, accountability and responsiveness to all stakeholders while processing the application.

GatiShakti Sanchar Portal Features

  • GatiShakti Sanchar Portal will enable applicants from Telecom Services Providers (TSPs), Infrastructure Providers (IPs), and Internet Services Providers (ISPs) to apply for RoW approvals for laying Optical Fiber Cables (OFC) and erecting Telecom infrastructures to submit their applications to various agencies of State/UT Governments and local bodies.

You can follow the steps to complete your applications.

Step 1: Register/log in as an applicant

Step 2: Select state

Step 3: Create a new Request

Step 4: Submit the form and pay the admin fees

Step 5: After Approval/Paying the Infrastructure fees

Step 6: Download the e-signature approval letter
