1st meeting of Youth -20 engagement group to be held in Guwahati, Assam

PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate India Energy Week 2023 at Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 at Bengaluru which is being conducted between the 6th and 8th of February 2023. India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 aims to showcase India’s rising prowess as an energy transition powerhouse.

  • PM Modi will dedicate to the nation the HAL helicopter factory at Tumakuru. The HAL helicopter factory is Asia’s largest helicopter manufacturing facility and will initially produce Light Utility Helicopters (LUH). LUH is an indigenously designed and developed 3-ton class, single-engine multipurpose utility helicopter with the unique feature of high manoeuvrability.

Sri Lanka celebrates 75th Independence Day

Sri Lanka celebrated 75 years of Independence on Saturday under the theme Namo Namo Matha – A step towards a century. The main ceremony of the National Independence Day Celebrations was conducted on Saturday morning at 8.30 am at Galle Face Green in Colombo. A special cultural arts festival Lankaralanka was conducted on Friday at Independence Square in Colombo.

Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf passes away in Dubai

Pervez Musharraf, former President of Pakistan, passed away at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness on Sunday at a hospital in Dubai. Musharraf had been undergoing treatment for an ailment at an American Hospital Dubai.

  • Musharraf was declared a fugitive in the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto murder case and Red Mosque cleric killing case.
  • The former military ruler left for Dubai in March 2016 for medical treatment and did not return since.
  • Musharraf was born on August 11, 1943, in Delhi and finished his early education at St Patrick’s High School in Karachi.
  • The former president had higher education at Forman Christian College in Lahore.

PM pays tributes to Sant Ravidas on his Jayanti

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi paid tributes to Sant Ravidas on his Jayanti. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;

Indian Railways to introduce Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train under ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ Scheme

Indian Railways will introduce a very special tour Garvi Gujarat to showcase the cultural & Spiritual Heritage of the Vibrant Gujarat State by running its Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train. This special tourist train, operated by IRCTC, will depart on 28th February 2023 from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on 8 days tour. The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train launch is in line with the Government of India initiative “Dekho Apna Desh” to promote domestic tourism. At a price range starting from Rs. 52250/- per person in AC 2 Tier, Rs.67140 per person for AC 1 (Cabin) and Rs. 77400/- Per Person for AC 1 (Coupe).

  • This train tour package was designed under the Scheme of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” which highlights the life of the Great Freedom Fighter Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
  • The entire train will cover a distance of 3500 KMs approx during the course of 8 days journey.

GST collection at Rs 1.55 lakh crore in January, second highest-ever

The second-highest Gross GST collection was made in the month of January this year, breaching the earlier second-highest record in October last year. Over 1,55,000 crore rupees gross GST revenue has been collected in the last month.

  • This was the second-highest collection ever, after 1,68,000 crores gross collection in April 2022. January’s collection includes CGST of 28 thousand 963 crores, SGST of 36 thousand 730 crores, and IGST of 79 thousand 599 crores.
