The Commemoration of Boganda is observed on March 29 every year in the Central African Republic. It is a national holiday to honor Barthélemy Boganda, the nation’s first prime minister, on the anniversary of his death. Barthélemy Boganda was a Central African politician and independence activist and was born in 1910. He became as the first Premier of the Central African Republic as an autonomous territory.

History of Commemoration Of Boganda
Roman Catholic missionaries adopted and educated Boganda. In 1938, He was appointed as a Roman Catholic priest. In 1946, he served as the first Oubanguian elected to the National Assembly of France.
In 1949, he established the Movement for the Social Evolution of Black Africa (MESAN). Boganda decided to set up the Central African Republic for Oubangui-Chari. He served as the autonomous territory’s first premier as the President of the Council of Government. On March 29, 1959, he was killed in a plane crash.
